TechEd North America is Microsoft’s premier technology conference for IT Professionals and Enterprise Developers, providing the technical education, product evaluation, and community resources to plan, architect, deploy, manage and secure a connected enterprise.

Born from the specific, deep technical needs of a subset of the IT community focused on systems management, the Microsoft Management Summit was created by the community itself, and has evolved to cover the Microsoft vision across PCs, devices, datacenter, and cloud computing.

We are excited to announce that in 2014, we are bringing together the best of TechEd and MMS at TechEd North America in Houston, TX. The brightest and most skilled technology professionals from both communities will meet to increase their technical expertise through deep hands-on technical learning, sharing of best practices and interaction with Microsoft and a variety of industry experts and their peers.

Track: Enterprise Cloud Adoption: "Remediate WS2003 and move to the Cloud in One Step"
With Windows Server 2003 end of extended support approaching, enterprises must begin their migration planning for all affected production applications. There are a variety of approaches and many people will take a “mix and match” approach. Whatever the approach, it’s important to have a migration plan now – 200 business days goes by quickly when some applications take weeks to migrate. This is the perfect opportunity to move those applications to the Cloud. There’s a way to move your applications and modernize (move to the cloud) at the same time. We’ll tell you about a company who did that and found it more than 5 times faster than traditional methods.

Speaker Bio:
Greg O'Connor is CEO of appzero (formerly Trigence) which develops software tools to help organizations move applications to Cloud computing environments. With more than 25 years of management and technical experience in the computer industry, he was founder and president of Sonic Software, acquired in 2005 by Progress. At Sonic, O'Connor invented the Enterprise Service Bus, a messaging-based solution that simplifies the re-use of business applications and is generally accepted today as the foundation for Service Oriented Architecture.
