"Moving complex legacy apps to the cloud is gaining momentum in the enterprise. appzero’s zapp migration is the right tool at the right time to speed movement to the cloud."
AppZero Overview
AppZero is the fastest way to move server applications to and from physical and virtual machines, in datacenters and clouds.
AppZero virtualization software encapsulates Windows, Linux, and Solaris applications in OS-free virtual application appliances (VAA). Encapsulated with their dependencies, but without an OS, server applications can quickly move with ‘copy and run’ simplicity.
Because AppZero VAAs sit on top of the OS, applications are unaffected by hypervisors, available memory, processor architecture, core count, storage technology or other OS specifics. Applications can then easily move from one environment to another, as quickly as business circumstances require, without any change or lock-in.
When an application is running, all changes it makes are captured within the VAA, leaving the underlying OS unchanged and the application free to move again. Multi-tiered applications can be encapsulated as a unit or by putting each tier into a separate VAA providing flexibility for scaling and separation for simplicity of management.
AppZero’s approach dramatically simplifies software deployment, operation, and management by freeing IT from the need to resolve complex OS and VM compatibility issues, library dependencies, or undesirable interactions with other applications. Application lifecycle automation also becomes far more flexible, less prone to error, and workloads can be provisioned to scale or de-scale to any machine, anywhere.
AppZero’s value proposition targets 1.) enterprises interested in moving applications to and from the cloud without modification or cloud lock-in 2.) ISVs and SIs who want instant POCs/demos and simplified distribution, 3) cloud providers moving existing applications to their environments.
